Bmw M4 Supra
This is one of the closest duels you would've seen in recent times

Look what Carwow has for us today; a BMW M4 and a BMW Supra. Sorry, Toyota Supra. The Supra was revived last year but it has received polarizing opinions. On paper, the M4 is a more powerful car, so these folks use a tuned version of the Toyota Supra that makes almost the same horses as the M4, but a lot more torque. Going purely by specs, the Supra should be winning, but does the M4 have what it takes to beat the Japanese-German wunderkind?
What Powers Both These Cars?
Let's lay the specs out of the way first. The BMW M4 comes packed with a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder engine that makes 431 ponies and 405 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission. As for the Toyota Supra, it is powered by a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder engine as well that churns out 340 horses and 369 pound-feet of torque in stock form.
The one used here is a tuned version by Evolve that makes 440 ponies and 500 pound-feet of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Supra weighs around 3,450 pounds, whereas the BMW M4 around 3,625 pounds.
How Did They Fare Against Each Other?
In the first drag race, the Supra had a faulty launch that saw the M4 fly past. Mat figured it out and they raced again, and this time it worked fine. The cars started neck-at-neck, but in the end, the M4 beat the Supra by the nose. Both cars took 12.3 seconds to finish the quarter-mile race.
The second race was a rolling start at 50 mph where the M4 was ahead most of the time. But as the cars picked up speed, the M4 seemed to have lost the oomph just before its speed limiter kicked in at 160 mph. The Supra, on the other hand, kept going all the way and had even taken the lead before the M4 touched its top speed. So, point – the Supra.
The third test was again a rolling start race at 50 mph, but this time in manual mode. The extra torque helped the Supra as it beat the M4 quite comfortably. The final round was a brake test at 70 mph. This was a close one too, but the M4 stopped just a few inches before the Supra.
Conclusion
This was an evenly matched race with both cars getting two points each. The M4 won its races by the narrowest of margins, whereas the Supra defeated the M4 more comfortably, especially in the rolling race. If you had to choose either of the cars, which one would it be?
